Tinseling Thursday XVI

I'm in love! Now and then I'm overwhelmed by new music. This time Canterbury band Syd Arthur blew my mind. And although it's not thursday yet over here, I couldn't wait to post this one.

Syd Arthur are Liam Magill (guitar, vocals), Raven Bush (violin, keys), Fred Rother (drums), Joel Magill (bass).
It's their song Hometown Blues that made me go WOW.

I'm not going to compare them with other bands, there are traces of jazz, folk, prog rock and funk. The band themselves call what they do "psychedelic funk rock" and that's not strange because of Canterburies past music scene (Soft Machine, Caravan and Camel). Raven Bush (great name by the way) is a nephew and heir of Kate Bush, a Kent girl herself.
